This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps we have taken and continue to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.

Our Business

HK Engineering Ltd is a commercial catering equipment and electrical services company based in Melksham, Wiltshire. We provide sales, servicing, repair, maintenance, and consultancy services for commercial catering equipment and NICEIC-approved electrical services across England and Wales. We serve a range of commercial sectors including restaurants, hotels, airports, motorway services, and casinos.

Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains include the procurement of commercial catering equipment, spare parts, electrical components, and tools from UK and international manufacturers and distributors. We work with established, reputable suppliers including Duke, Middleby, Welbilt, Meiko, and Unox, among others.

Our Policies

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. To ensure this, we have implemented the following policies and procedures:

• We carry out due diligence on new suppliers and regularly review existing suppliers to assess any risks of modern slavery.
• We have a whistleblowing policy in place that encourages employees to report any concerns relating to modern slavery or human trafficking without fear of reprisal.
• We ensure that all employees are treated fairly and paid at least the National Living Wage.
• We do not use any form of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour.
• We verify the identity and right to work of all employees in accordance with UK law.

Due Diligence

As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring within our supply chains, we undertake the following due diligence processes:

• Evaluating potential new suppliers before they enter our supply chain.
• Reviewing existing supply chains to assess areas of risk.
• Taking steps to improve practices where areas of concern are identified.
• Prioritising UK-based suppliers where possible to maintain greater oversight.

Training and Awareness

We ensure that our staff are aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking and understand their responsibilities in preventing it. Key staff involved in supply chain management and recruitment receive appropriate guidance to identify and respond to potential indicators of modern slavery.
